Mark--I finally will get my ass in gear this spring and get over to Atco. I promise. Tuner is going to leave it a little rich, he prefers to play it on the safe side instead of squeezing out a few extra hp and risking the car going lean. I told him do whatever as long as she runs strong

Sarge--good point you nake there, is there a break in period for the cam? Or can you lay right into that baby?

The valvesprings need heat cycled a couple times.
Cam itself doesn't need broken in.
Make sure the oil is pretty warm before stepping on it as well.

I would lay off for a few days of driving, let it all get broken in, then change your oil/filter to get the assy lube and any possible break-in metal shavings out. Slap one of those wrap-around oil filter magnets on to trap the heavy metals so it doesn't cycle through the engine. After that have fun.
Put an extra clean pair of undies in the console, for when you shit yourself like Sarge said!

Wow. That is going overboard.
Already had my completely new motor to 5600 RPM's. Has maybe 45 minutes of run time.
Cam install....heat cycle the valvesprings twice. Warm up, let cool down. Then warm it up and ROMP on it!!!

Maybe so, but it won't hurt anything to be patient and ensure all the parts are working well before thrashing on it, just a little added insurance.
But that's just my opinion, just hate to see someone throw good money away because of a little impatience.
