rear main seal change
hey yall, so my rear main seal is leaking.....pretty bad, so i ordered a new one from thunder raceing, and i plan on changing it out myself this weekend. ive never done this on the LS1, so if there are any special steps or precautions that i should know before doing this, please tell. helpfull hints to maybee make this easier would also be appriciated. thanks guys!

just make sure that when you pull the tranny out, it is in fact the rear main that is leaking. I had the same problem and when the tranny came out it turned out the be the crankshaft plug that had shifted and was leaking oil into the bell housing and leaked out between the engine and trans.

X2 make sure that it is the seal. I thought my seal went bad, so i pulled my trans. I was actually a bad slave. My slave was so fucked up that it was spitting out black as sin brake fluid - which i thought was oil.
