I think my 80 year old grandma could of shifted that Fox body coupe better than that!!!
Are you stabbing it from a idle or loading it on the conv.?
Also what kind of tire pressure are you running?
And last but not least do you drive around the waterboix or roll staright through it?Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

Who's dragradial are you using?
If it's a Mickey Thompson 275/40/17 on your stock wheels that is too low.If you go to nice CLEAN concrete parking lot and do a holeshot after just a quick cleaning of the tires you'll see the marks left will be very dark on the edges and light in the middle due to TOO low os psi the tire cups.
Also next time you go watch some others and you should see some people driving around the waterbox and then backing up to do there burnout. That is what you should get in the habit of doing!
When you don't you are putting a great amount of water in your 7-9" front tires tread....... So as you are sitting waiting for the tree there is water running down the tread and whaen you take off you roll right into the same moisture which causes LESS traction.
You'll probably get better 60' (once you get the psi right) if you only load the conv. to 1100-1200 cause it will flash better like that versus holding it a 2000 or higher.
Try it I think those things should help you greatly.

Until you get into the low 11's high 10's range I wouldn't worry about it.
JUST MAKE SURE TO LIFT IF IT STARTS WHEEL HOPPING!!!
