    American Racing vs Kooks Headers

I've decided to break out the plastic and finally upgrade my headers. I currently have the 1 3/4" x 3" Dynatech headers. I keep getting told that I need better headers than what I have because its on a 408. I've been told that bigger cubes need bigger headers. But which ones? I've narrowed it down to these two choices, or I might just keep the ones I have. Vote and help me decide..

You can run the 1 3/4" headers. Won't loose much at all.

I went with Kooks 1 7/8" longtubes. The only reason I upgraded was I was running SLP piles of shit and I knew I was going to drop my car. No way they were going back on. If I had different ones...I would probably have 1 3/4" on my stroker.

That kinda what I've been thinking also (keep the 1 3/4). Thanks Mr Lous.

I honestly don't know what it dynos now. I've done alot to it since it was dynoed a year ago. It dynoed at 390 on a mustang dyno. But my converter turned out to be crap. I replaced it with a different brand and it went from trapping 89 mph to 94.5 mph in the 1/8th mile. At roughly 3850# race weight, the calculators tell me thats approximately 530 hp. I'm looking to put a 200 shot on soon, so that would be one good reason to get the 1 7/8 headers.

Well, I listened to y'all and I'm picking up my kooks headers this weekend. Can't wait to install them. I also picked up a ported FAST intake and 90mm throttle body. Can't wait to get this stuff installed and see what it does. I'll let y'all know..
