    Cam swap question

Can you install a cam with the motor in the car? If you can what do you all need to take out to do it? I don't know if there's room and I want to do one if I don't have to pull the motor. Are there any special tools needed?

Hey I had a crane cam installed in mine and you dont have to pull the motor to do it! I hired someone to do it for me but all that stuff in front of the motor they had to take out like your radiater for one. installing the cam was easy its just getting to it that is a little time consuming. and make sure whoever does it knows what they are doing and tunes it right. Mine worked out all right.
    I have a 02 ws6 M6. Later......

Good link, thanks!!! Now I have a new list from just a cam to cam, push rods, UDP/belts , new timing chaing, & ported LS6 oil pump. I'll have to go see what kind of prices I can find to see how much it'll be. Maybe Santa will be good to me this year.

Thunder Racing has some nice packages for both the cam and springs etc. plus gasket packeges. Check the other sponsors too, I'm sure you'll find a good list for Santa.

I was thinking of picking up some used stuff depending on how big of a price difference the parts are and what is out there. I'm planning on doing a low comp 402 for some sort of force feeding in the future so I don't want to put a lot into the LS1. It'll take me a about 2 or 3 years to get to the motor swap so I want a little extra push until then. I still need to do a rear, torque arm, clutch, fuel system to get every thing set up for a nice big power jump. I need some new seats that hold me in a bit better after modding suspension too! Thanks for the info. I'll still check them out and see what they got.
