Replacing Sparkplugs
Hello people...I've recently acquired my wifes' '98 Z-28 with 107k miles on it and I'd like to change out the plugs....I grabbed my tools, popped the hood and stared down into what I firmly believe to be a more difficult job than any plug changing job that I've ever seen in my life....I closed the hood, put my tools away and ran into the house...curled up into the fetal possition and started weeping like an adolesent schoolgirl...then it dawned on me that I might find some advise here......any suggestions?

Thanks rbob....but what I'm really hoping for is someone to reply back how easy it is and go on and on that it is so easy that it can be done with a cheap pair of pliers and a monkey wrench......I guess that ain't gonna happen.

Custom Slate Blue- 99 B4C
Just take off the air tubes and the passenger side coils, it will make it SO much easier. With those off, it will be so easy that it can practically be done with a cheap pair of pliers and a monkey wrench.

As stated above. Remove the air tube from the passenger side manifold and take the back 2 coil packs off of the passenger side. Do those 2 things and the swap will go much easier. Do the number 8 plug first ( rear passenger side) because once you get that one done it's all downhill from there. There is a swivel socket combo that works best but right off hand I don't remember it. Just put a swivel on and play with it. I think you'll be surprised at how easy it is once you get started on it. After number 8 you'll fly through the other 7 so get 8 first while you still have a fresh mind. haha
ps
keep a box of bandaids and salve handy. you're gonna need it.

wow! so many people are intimidated by the plug changes. It finally dawned on me why its so easy for me...I dont have air or egr in the way Its an easy task. Id recommend taking off the coil packs and valve covers to help with ease.
