515 HP from Heads and Cam???
Hey all. I had a question for you. In my summit racing equipment magazine there is a Head/Cam package that states 515 HP from just swapping the Cam and Heads with a stock LS1 engine. If you have the magazine it's on page 329 and it's Trick Flow "Packaged LS1 power from Trick Flow" it's their GenX Street/Strip cylinder heads (TFS-3060T001-C01) and their 228/230 @ .050,.585"/.585 lift cam.
My question is has anyone used this package and are those HP gains really feasible?

They're certainly talking about flywheel horsepower and yes, 515 hp is certainly attainable, however it might be a bit optimistic. I have the exact same Trick Flow cam (see below) and my setup just made 435 rwhp and 406 rwtq on the dyno yesterday with the cutout closed. Keep in mind this includes full bolt ons and a ported FAST 92 mm intake and TB.
My power figure doesn't seem like it's a huge number, however the torque is just plain sick......it's already over 350+ ft/lbs at 2700 rpm (which is where the dyno started recording). The Trick Flow heads should net even better power figures than my setup. All of this was accomplished while retaining GREAT street manners. If you're looking for a comfortably driveable head and cam package that makes great power throughout the band (with a slight preference to down low and mid range), the Trick Flow package is a great selection. If you're looking for higher power numbers, you can always opt to go with a different cam. I'm pretty confident I could easily tip over 450 - 460 rwhp with the Vindicator cam from Vengeance, however I was more interested in making my power down low with this setup.2002 Camaro SS M6, 2.5 PRC 5.3L heads, TFS 228/230 cam, FAST 92, bolt ons + a 10 lb bottle in the back.
1989 Corvette L98, A4, Full bolt ons, etc.
