Taken to a Better Home
While washing and waxing my car for 5hrs yesterday it got me to thinking about some things. When I bought my car it was dirty and kept outside and both windows and a headlight were out the dash and windshield were cracked but I was in love. So I was just curious since you have bought your car do you think it has been taken to a better home? Or do you think the previous owners or dealership had taken better care of it....?

when i bought my car, it wasnt in the best shape either, mechanically and appearance wise, I think she was originally purchased in hawaii or something. The salesman asked me to wait an hour or two to get it detailed, but since im a auto detailer my self i requested that ide take her home as she was. Since then ive fixed a couple things and shes been detailed about twice a month since i bought her. A little detailing and some good waxing will turn any car into a beauty. Shes in better hands now.

I'd say it's pushing it. You might have a better home for it than before... I dunno though. lolz
Me, I think mine's worse. The guy I got it from worked at a (Ford..idiot) dealership and always kept it garaged. I don't have my own garage or anything and I can't afford to change the oil with Redline every 2 months for free.

You definitely brought it to a better home! Even gave it new life!
I bought mine absolutely mint, definitely garaged by the previous owner. I do have a suspicion that it was repainted but if it was they did a very professional job. When i bought the car it had no front license plate cover so i bought one got it paint matched and put on. So id say I took it to a better home.

I', sad to say that I think mine has come to w worse home. It was from texas and perfect, well almost. Now it's its here up north int he snow and parked out side but covered thank fully, and get parked put side and driven all the time in the summer. So noe it needs a full detail and new windsheild. I got large rock chip just behind the rear view now, It sucks.

DEFINATELY better with me. Not that the car wasn't taken care of, but I pamper my cars like crazzy. I know a lot of people with nice cars, that treat them like shit.
Here I'd hope with a car forum and all, people take care of them!

Mine was in an ok home, i actually traveled up to PA to get mine (the only manual i could find in my price range) i can only assume they at least knew how to take care of the engine as they appeared to be mechanically inclined; if that makes sense not to mention they had a huge V8 covered up in their driveway off to the side.
There is another nice 80s black T\a that was for sale for a long time at a house outside my neighborhood. Their house is right on the road and everyday i leave i can see it, it does move from time to time but sometimes i want to take it to cover it up and keep out of the sun. Not to mention the older knight rider looking ones look pretty sweet. Oh well, i guess the owner decided its too nice to sell. I know if i ever had to sell mine id kinda discriminate bc id want it to go to someone whos not gonna wreck it\ abuse it.

My car was owned by a middle aged woman who babied it for a decade and had all the maintenance done before it was needed.
Now I beat the hell out of it. And it's definitely having more fun.
My 91 still likes me, even after 8 years of similar punishment.
So I guess it depends on what your definition of "better" means.
Maybe you should just ask the car.

I would say mine is in a better home now but that may not be true. Mines a vert and the previous owner did a number on the interior - but for a good reason. He was handicapped and the only way he could own a TA was to own a vert and leave the top down so he could get his wheel chair in and out. I replaced almost every interior panel. It only gets driven a thousand miles a year and doesn't see rain. It was a labor of love working on the interior anyway. I had fun doing it.

My vehicle looks almost mint on the outside and inside but when I opened the hood it looked like someone had dumped a bucket of multipurpose grease on it... It upset me. lol
