    Ls1 issues to look out for?

    Hey guys looking at getting into my first LS-1 trans-am and I was wondering if their are any issues that I should check into before I buy. I know every motor has it's own distinctions and issues and such. Just need to know what to keep eye on and what questions to ask any owners I think about purchasing from.

    Also anything of importance between trans-am production years would be appreciated as well. 98-02

    some have a little bit of a noisy valvetrain... but it doesnt effect performance. they are pretty solid engine. you'll like it

    Only thing I dislike about the t/a's is the pop up headlights. I se alot of them around town with one or both stuck up during the day.

    the only thing i hate about the TA's is that the shifter handle lines up my knuckels with the radio power knob... when i do a hard 2-3 shift i punch my radio and turn it off or on... i ditched that for a shorter stick...

    not an LS1 motor issue but since your getting a F-body. That POS 10 bolt in the rear. seach for 10 bolt on this site and you will find lots of people who have broken it... including me.
