Stock lightning Vs LS1
First off I am a true F-body guy at heart, but I just bought an 04 lightning and I am pleasantly surprised with this truck. It is completely bone stock. I took it to the track for the first time and was running 8.7x's @ 80-81 mph 2.0x 60' I was actually beating a lot of the LS1 at the track but some of them were running me down at the end. I hate to say it but I have to give Ford props for this truck.

First two things.....
Get a ftvb with 4x4 pan.......http://www.chickenears.com/accumulator_main.htm
Get a 4# or 6# pulley and a tune.
Those two things really wake that truck up.

I go to Kennedale usually. Thanks for all the info guys. The race between the TA and lightning will be a good one but that TA is probably going to start walking the truck pretty good after 100 mph.

Nice trucks. They're spose to be remakin em soonish. Ford is gettin kinda weird w/ their trucks, I've seen a "SALEEN" F-150 and couldn't freakin believe it.

I LOVE the Gix. Its got full Leo Vince titanium exhaust with a carbon fiber can, bmc race filter, power commander tuned by Cycle Werkz, Vortex 520 conv. with 1 down in the front 2 up in the rear. Next up is Yoshi cams and a set of Marchesini forged Magnesium wheels.. My buddy has an 03 R1 with a D&D slip on and I can usually pull him pretty good (we are roughly the same weight) 60 to 160 I can put 5-6 bike lengths on him.

Maybe from a roll but I SERIOUSLY doubt you could leave one from a dig. Question were the lightning drivers aware that you were racing??? I used to be cocky like you and thought I would destroy every lightning that I came across....Until I got one. What times and speeds do you run at the track? I've only ran 1/8 mile in the truck so far. I haven't had a chance to get to the 1/4 mile yet.
