Question Best way to dry a wet cell phone?

The best way is to not be a dumbass and drop it in the pool in the first place.

So it was underwater for about 45 seconds while I ran and got the skimmer and fished it out. I immediately disassembled it, took out the battery and dried it with a hair dryer for about 10 minutes. I was worried I was getting the phone hot so I stopped after it got too warm.

Anybody know the correct procedure to dry them out? I've read where you bake it in the oven @ 125 degrees for 5 hours, charge it til it's fully charged and then turn it on.

Stick it in a bag of rice and seal the bag...leave it there for 24 hours.

My nokia's always seemed fine just letting them dry at room temp.

the best thing to do regardless is wait, people don't wait to turn them on and see if they work and when it's wet you sure don't help the problem turning it on. Nothing special is needed really, just time. Make sure to leave the battery off though

    Probably not a bad idea...

I would shake off as much water as possible and give this a shot. Be careful of plastic bags that create static because that will fry your fone too.

don't try to turn it back on whatever you do....that can ruin it....just let it set out in pieces until it looks like it could be dry prolly a few hours....put it back together and turn it on....if it doesn't work you left it in the water too long

Hair dryer is a bad idea...Heat can be just as bad as water to electronic components...

Take it apart and spray the board down with contact cleaner.

If it does not work after you put it together you will have to sign a new contract.

Bingo.... just like a circuit board. The alcohol dries out the water. Give it 24 hours, and maybe some light heat with hair dryer..... Avoid lots of heat. Do NOT cook it because these things all use low heat solder joints....

Oh snap, I said "running" alcohol I meant rubbing alcohol cause it flushes out the water and evaporates really quick
