modify poly trans mount?
What's up everyone? Quick question... I went with a poly trans mount from Energy about a year ago--and have always had vibration. I just drove 1000 miles to NC to see family on new tires and it about shook my head off! I remember reading something about grinding or modifying the mount in some way to make it fit closer to the OEM style that decreased the vibration, and would like to do it before Saturday when I drive back home! So anyone that knows what I'm talking about-please post up!! Thanks!
p.s.-its an a4 if it makes a difference...

removing the plate will do the most. second is to grind down the part that goes against the transmission.
Cold Air Intake, Muffler Delete, Vinci High Performance Dual Valve Springs, Hardened Pushrods, Yella Terra 1.85 Rockers, Some Hydropdipped Stuff, Strut Tower Brace, Some SS Badges, boost/vacuum gauge, fuel pressure gauge, some checkered stripes, drilled/slotted rotors, ZL1addons Stealth wickerbill, Ruxifey LED side markers

I agree
I had one with the plate on and hated it so much I sold it. After my badmotor mounts tore up two stock trany mounts I went to all urethane and installed the trans mount sans plate and never looked back.
It's still going to have some vibration even without the plate but it's not as harsh.Craig

I have the same mount and prolly got it from the same store.Lone star racing on 110 in tyler?
Any way I noticed a considarable amount of vibration with mine when it was first installed but have not noticed any more vibrations lately...although my rear end is howling so loud its all I can think about right now.
I plan on rechecking it when I make a gear swap, and if it is still there removing the plate as mentioned above.
