i dont know why cops waste their time. dirt bikes accelerate so much harder then a crown vic does and you can go off road wherever you want. to be dumb enough to take a 2 ton + rwd cruiser off road makes that guy about as smart as a tree stump. all he did was cost the taxpayer money by fuckin his cruiser up.

Are they fast enough to get away normally? I thought dirtbikes only had like 25 hp? Still more power than a Hardley Ableson though

There's guys who do in the states too, with much faster bikes against the crown vics. Blow past a cop, slow down and let him catch up, blow him away again, slow down.... and repeat until they're bored.

an 80 cc mx bike is around 18 to 20 horses, a 125 is around 30 and a 250 45 to 50. that doesnt sound like much but when you consider that the 80 weighs 150 lbs the 125 around 200 lbs and the 250 weighs around 220, coupled with a really hard hitting powerband. they accelerate real hard to their top speeed. a 2 stroke accelerates pretty much jus as hard in ever gear accept top gear. and then you hit the brick wall ie your top speed. their top speeds arent super high but they dont need to be they arent designed to be. but to a certain distance you can smoke a crown vic with an 80 then the gearing and higher horsepower will overcome the bike. the dirt biker has a huge advantage with the lightweight and extreme maneuverability.they turn like nobodys business they run over rough terrain like nothing do to long travel suspension etc. needless to say most idiot patrolman dont stand a chance. they advantages are traffic.
