I got a quote of $1200 to do mine. I ended up doing it myself a couple days after work. Def. glad I did it myself because it wasn't hard at all.

If you do decide to do it yourself, here is a pretty good instructional site. http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=23
A friend of mine thats never done it before did his cam in only a couple of hours with these instructions.

Need to change out your springs though to keep up with the cam. Have new Crane unit specially made for LS1 beehive springs so you can make your spring swap in-car a breeze!! Asking 80.00 shipped!

the only thing about installing a cam is you need certain tools to do the job right.
Like a vavle spring installer/remover, crank pulley removal tool, front cover tool, and for A4 a flywheel locking tool. these tools will make the install a breeze, take your time if you do it yourself and it should ony take a weekend (taking your time having fun)
I just got finished Sunday with a head swap, lifters, studs.... and I had a blast working on my car and saving money, I have about 23 hours in it taking my time and since I have never done it before I learned somethings.

I have paid for a cam and spring swap and it was $500 labor
