im in the same boat totally, and frankly, mine are a bit scary.
honestly i would just get some cross drilled summit rotors for the front and some good pads. two piston calipers in my opinion are quite enough for street duty. im thinking about going to stainless steel brake lines if that makes a shit but keep it simple, i wouldnt waste money on a big brake kit if you dont absolutely need it (road racing...).
summit rotors are about 60 bucks i believe, though its been a month since i checked.

i do a lot of fast driving (100 is my usual cruising speed). i have the regular brake setup, but with raybestos rotors and pads, and never had any problems. not even from 140 down to 70 (some people never use their mirrors...).
do you run stock shocks and springs? when i switched to bilstein shocks, braking really improved.

I would suggest Baer, I know they have a wide range of products. I got a set of theirs on my 94 and it made a huge difference, not to mention the people I dealt with were very nice and helpful.

i had severe swaying with the stock shocks, the rear felt light, braking from high speeds felt really uncomfortable. i suggest switching the shocks, improves the handling in general and should be cheaper.
also, i don't know your car's mileage, but my stock shocks were simply kaputt at 50000 miles.
