Traction Control
Got a 2000 SS. My question is there anyways to disable the TCS or bypass it when you want to get a lil crazy? Or is their not a way I am a new Camaro owner but loving every minute of it

If you use is most of the time just turn the switch off. You can also buy a module so it defaults to OFF when you start the car.

Yeah I dont have a on/off switch in my car, thats why I was wondering if you could buy something to turn it on and off or what?

since you have no TCS switch (located to the right of your foglight switch) you have no ability to turn it on/off...it's perminately OFF...
you can buy TCS for your car, but i have no clue on what direction to point you into for doing so...so in the intrim, be careful...

OK, I misred your post - thought you just wanted to turn it off. If you don't have the switch the car doesn't have traction control (like mine). Can't buy just a switch and have it turn on...a lot more involved. ASR/TCS cars have RPO code NW9 on the drivers side door.

In summit magazine I found a SLP
Traction control module
In exact words
The traction control system in fourth gen camaro's is great- if you are not trying to warm up the tires at the track. SLP made this LT1/LS1 TCS logic module so you wont have to stall or bog down while you are trying to do a burn out before starting. The module reverses the activation of the TCS function if it is off until you turn it on with the OE traction control switch. The module features a plug-in installation as well as instructions
PART # SLE-63015 F body 1999-2002 72.95
If I understand correctly you can ad it to a car that doesn't have TCS/ASR
Right...? Can you guys clarify that thats how it works. Hope fully this helps you out FlawlezSS

sorry, wrong.
the module just reverses the mode the tcs wakes up:
oem is: turn on the car - tcs is on.
with the module: turn on the car - tcs is off.
so it works only with tcs/asr equipped cars.

Who need Traction Control?... it's just an obstruction to your fun... just get some good tires on the car... that's the best type of traction control...

Disable Traction Control
Did you ever find a solution for this? I am in the same boat. My car obviously has traction control but has no button to turn it off. Everyone says if you dont have the button then you dont have traction control. Something is missing here.
If you found a solution for this I would really like to hear about it.
