you could if you know how to launch a a4..you have more control over the powerband of your car ect..but expect the a4 to take you out the gate.

My 97 Z28 6 speed vert, and my 02 SS auto vert have raced together a few times with my wife driving the auto,,,,That damn LS1 runs around me everytime Both cars were stock at the time,,,and she would routinely put 3-4 cars on me whether it be from a dig or a roll.
Now I have started to play with the LS1 a little with a few tricks, and it kills my LT1 Z now,,,,,LOL.
All I can tell ya is run'em' and find out.

Assuming both cars are stock LT1's with one being an auto and one being a manual, I would give it to the auto from a dig. Computer out-shifts drivers without question, unless you are a professional driver. From a roll, might be a different story. The M6 will have better gearing than an A4. THe only good gear in an auto is 2nd. Once the auto gets out of 2nd, 3rd gear is tall (1:1, with the M6's 4th being 1:1).
