Moving a car with motor torn down
Hey guys, I need to get a 95 Firebird moved out of the garage to put it on a tow truck, but failed to remember about the shift interlock. Since the motor is partially torn down most of the engine wiring harness is disconnected, and the batt. is out.
I would assume that all I need to do is re-attach the batt. long enough to move the shifter into neutral and call it done, but what do I have to do to keep the fuel pump from coming on when I turn the key to the ON position to unlock the gearshift? Is there a relay or inertia/impact switch somewhere that I can use to cut the fuel off?

Should have a fuse you can pull.

you can pull the pump relay also. Why can't you just get under it and pop the shift linkage off and put it in neutral by hand? Well, guess just pulling a relay or fuse would be easier.

I had thought about popping the linkage, but not a whole lotta room to get to it, and yes, it's easier
Now, since the fuse/pump relay has been brought up, can anyone point me in the direction of said relay? I really wish I had a book on this car, lol... Feel kind of lost without one.

Is there a fuse box under the hood on the driver side on the earlier 4th gens?

pull the fuse box lid off . Sometimes the relays and fuses will be listed on the lid. Should be somewhere under the hood. Not entirely sure where it's at on an LT1 but I bet it's similar to where the LS1's are, drivers side front.
