WS6 Wheel Question
Couple of quick questions:
I've got the 17-inch factory Speedline wheels on my '02 WS6 T/A but prefer the thinner spoked factory wheels from the 98-00 WS6 cars. I have an opportunity to buy the thinner spoked wheels and am wondering if the diameter, width, and offset are the same a the Speedlines. Secondly, are the thinner spoked wheels on the 98-00 cars the same as the ones used on 96-97 WS6 T/As? Thanks for your help.

The WS-6 rim is 17x9 with a 50mm offset.

early 01 cars could get them also, like my ws6 did.
i think they were based off of the earlier 4th gen firehawk rims, or something like that.
i would just look for 98- early 01 ws6 rims and u know they will be what ur looking for.Pontiac Firebird's: 91 Formula 350, 01 Trans Am WS6, Suzuki's: 09 SX4 Crossover, GSX-R's: 06 600 & 07 1K.

I believe LS1 wheels wont fit an LT1 or vice versa with out a little grinding on the inside of the wheel.

A 97 LT1 and a 98 LS1 WS6 have the same rims.

There's like a little lip you have to grind down on the inside around where like the centercap is on the outside.

Silver- 2002 T/A
Baby got [Torsen] back!
If memory serves, the reason they fit differently is because of the Torsen axle. It became standard in '99 and was optional on 98's. If the '98 had the Torsen rear, a wheel from the '97 will not fit the '98.
IMHO, I do not recommend grinding down the lip, and this is what helps keep the wheel centered on the axle. Hey, those fives little bolts can only do so much! LOL
But hey, it's your car. Dowhatchalike.

fine
If you have a 2002 with speedlines, then you shouldnt have any problem with the WS6 wheels. I have a 2001 WS6 with the WS6 wheels on it and they fit fine. They came stock like that. The WS6 wheels only came on WS6s made early in the 2001, then from mid 2001 till the end they were speedlines. But you should have no problem with WS6 wheels if thats what you like.

it seems like most ws6 owners hate the thicker spoked speedlines, i happen to think they look best lol

I have nothing against the speedlines, in fact I like them. But on my WS6 and Im sure most others and as you said just think that the WS6 wheels look better on our cars.. or we like the WS6 wheels better.

Black; Silver- 99 Z28; 04 Silverado
This was an educational thread that I should have read before my earlier post.
Anyway, do you know if the WS-6 offset and width is the same as the 1999 and newer SS wheel?
Do the speedlines have the same width and offset?
I wonder what the WS-6 wheel looks like on a 99 Camaro?

09 EclipseGT 75 Chevy 4x4- 2001 Trans-Am 13 F-XT
I have a set of 95 Z-28 rims I run in the winter and they fit fine, but look a bit silly. It's surpising how many supposed car people don't notice it until they read the Camaro on them.
