auto to 6 speed swap,,,whats involved?

As far as the computer tune is concerned,,,what has to be changed to facilitate the swap from a 4L60E to a 6 speed? I am using HP tuner and I am just curious how involved the computer end of this swap is. Larry.

No idea. But I would think it would be easier to sell your car and get a six speed car.

No it wouldn't,,,I have an SS vert in dark blue,,,I would hate to search for an identical car in a 6 speed. Besides, I am not contemplating this swap but thought it would be a viable option if this auto ever bit the dust. Since I already have HPtuner it's just the mechanicals I would have to conquer,,,and was wondering what is involved on the tune side of things.

you can actually still pick up this issue as it is still on the stands. pretty much a step by step of the swap. very good article, but the pics are just so so to me. good stuff though. may 07 issue.

You shouldn't have to do anything more than maybe delete a code or 2. Its if you go the other way (m6 to a4) that you might have to reconfigure some stuff. I wouldn't pay for a full tune to do this, just find someone around town who has hptuners or something, its not that hard.

I highly recommend the full swap out on tunes with a 6 speed car tune. I did the swap on an LT1 car, and it did weird things until I just did a full tune swap instead of modifying my A4 tune.
