WTF....why is my clutch pedal not operating.

I Was Driving And All Of A Sudden My Clutch Pedal Wasn't Coming Back Up. What Could Be The Problem? Now, My Car Start When The Pedal Is Down But When Its Up It Won't. Then When I Push It Theres No Tension. Please Help!!

The part about the clutch not coming back up to its original hieght sounds similar to an issue I had at one time, but it hasn't done that lately. Well I went to my mechanic and he said it might be the hydraulic part of the clutch starting to go bad. But before you go through all that make sure your clutch fluid is full. To answer the other question, I don't know why your car would start with the clutch up, I didn't think that was possible on a manual transmission.

your master cylinder may have gone bad...

Thats what I was thinking(master cyclinder)went bad since putting the fluid it'll run empty quick. Per 5.7 reasons, my car won't start with the pedal up, but when its down it will. Your right manual wont start if the pedal is up.

Anyways, would you guys advise me to get a new master cylinder? If so, is there a better one that stock. Thanks

i got the ram adjustable, but most like the stocker. its not a hard install and i think the stocker comes pre bled. if your getting a stock one, id order it from Fred Beans. If you want an aftermarket, id go with the ram from new era.

thanks, but my situation is more complicated regarding that area. i've went for repairs 4 times due to tranny problems and just a few hours ago i discovered a leak right under my transmission. that leak was coming between the part taken from my old tranny(front plate)connecting to the new transmission.

can it be a problem that would be covered by a warranty job?

it should be. it was done by them so they should warrenty their own work. where under your tranny is it leaking?? the front or the back and what color? if its coming from where the bellhousing and the tranny meet, then its the slave cylinder.

i would check the slave first before buying a new master cyl.

theres a reason why the clutch has to be pushed in to start it

clean everything off and then push the clutch in and ect. to see where the leak for sure is comeing from for a better idea whats wrong

so where exactly is the master slave at?

the slave is inside the bell housing with the clutch but the line runes from the master to the slave

the master is under the hood under the brake booster on the driverside. the slave is inside the tranny. i can leak. i know when i was bleeding it, id crack open the bleeder screw and it was coming out the bellhousing.

My car did the same thing I have 2000 ws6. I brought into the shop with a new slave cylinder and they replaced it for 100 bucks and now there is no more problem.

I assume you had your car towed to the shop of your own preference or a GM dealer. Also, did you get an aftermarket or an oem slave cylinder?

well, its going to be monday and i wanted to get my ride rollin again. i'm just trying to keep my pockets from being empty. would anyone think that this is a difficult job to work on?

i've never done a t-56 yet but a t-5 no problem. i've done many transaxles(fwd's) and they are more of a pain in the ass compared to something like this. and i believe the t-56 is not any different from the t-5.
