    Graphite to quite down a bad rearend bearing?

    well i got some graphite from an arts and crafts store. an old mechanic said if you put in graphite in your rearend that it will quite down the bearing wind its not a fix but it quites it down like a cover up. i just want to shut it up cause its anoying. let me know if you have ever heard of this... n yea somebody put graphite in my old 95 z28 which had a bad bearing before i bought it!! yea its great.

    yeah ive heard that too its not gonna fix it and when the bearing finally does give up and comes apart you'll be left on the side of the road calling a tow truck the best thing to do is to get that fixed as soon as you can

    you don't want to quite down a bad bearing, you want to replace a bad bearing. Noisy or quiet, it's only doing more and more damage the longer it's in there
