My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
dazed n confused
LOL, wow, i just watched the movie "Dazed n Confused" for the first time ever, that movie was GREAT! Gratuitous scenes of bad ass cars. Loved the Judge and "white lightning" for sure! Man, that movie had some great lines!
"hey man! You cool?"
"yeah, I guess..."
"...heh...OK"
so any old schoolers here wanna verify if summer in the 70's was that bad ass? i wasn't ever part of the "in crowd" and my school had no good looking cars at all. [graduated in 2000]

it was better..well at least from what i can remember...
A lot simpler then...
nothing like like a hot ass hard body chick in a wet tee shirt, swinging on a rope swing over the river...
us kids bending wrenchs all week and saving pennys for saturday night races at the local moonlight drag strip..slammin iced beer, chasing chicks, always sombody with a chip on there shoulder, a little fighten, a little racing, some smoken and if you got lucky a little screwing.....biggest worry was getting the clap or knocking up some chick when the rubber broke
...not that simple any more...71 Camaro, roller cam 454 LS6, tremec TKO 600 5 speed, 2.56 gears, berlineta t-top, New Mexico plate "RAT454"
74 Monte Carlo, 95 LT1 drive traIn swap, full computer,
67 Buick Electra 225, 430 tire burner wildcat,
+++if it ain't broke it's breaking+++

1968 - 70's muscle cars doin smokey burnouts up and down the street in front of your house (using a garden hose to cool the street) and NO ONE cared or called the cops !
Gettin pulled over drinkin beer in the car and the cop sayin " you guys be careful"
Drivin around with a pony keg in the trunk with the hose stickin out refilling your cup at the stop lights.
gettin pulled over for racin, have the cop find your pipe in the ash tray then the cop just tell you to park it overnight then drive you home and not tell your parents.
Damn that was the sh8t back then ! oh the memories

That movie was a good one and it made me feel like I was back in school watching it.
Times were definately different back then.
I would say it was pretty accurate...

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
i like the way you think!
it's funny how you guys are talkin about it being simpler back then. Like it kills me that today, kids are so quarantined with video games and parental interference. Its like they can't just go to a play ground and get scuffed up a bit. I loved when the freshman got his ass whooped and later that night was swiggin' beers with the guys who beat him...KIDS ARE MISSIN THAT SHIT TODAY MAN! If a kid gets in a fight at school, the school turns into lock down now. All this "sensitivity" is making gonna make the kids today grow up to be pansies...don't want to turn this political, but i think we all aggree.

Black- 2000 Camaro Z28
it still is that simple out here in the sticks, but wehave to be a lot more covert with our racin and drinkin, but the rest is about the same, most of parents grew up in this era and know what we do but don't say anything cause they didi it too.

yea but racing and drinkin nowdays gets you thrown in jail for a night, unlike in the 70s where the cops just told u to stop that shit and go home

ahhh the best line of the movie was when they were standing outside of the emporium. wooderson said 'man thats why i love the highschool girls man, i keep getting older and tehy stay the same age'.
it is almost as good as the 2 chicks at the same time quote from office space
