    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

Question what to eat after working out?

So what should I eat after working out? I figured it should be protien based to help rebuild the muscle. But can it taste good? Can i make like chicken and pork with multiple sides or should I cut back?

I normally work out for about 45 minutes before dinner and i'm uber hongry by then. I just want to know what will help me and not revert anything I worked off.

+1 on the chicken & tuna posts. But I also eat a lot of vegetables. No potatos, I hate them. Just some whole wheat roll instead.

Body building mags also suggest drinking chocolate milk right after a work out. It's a good combo of protein/carbs. It's also filling so you won't want to snack after dinner as much

I take a shaker to the gym with the powder already in.

Just add water and the 'golden hour' is within minutes!

You should take a protein shake in with you. The problem with the golden hour is that by the time you get home and eat and the time that it takes your body to break down the food and use the nutrients the golden hour is over. You should take a shake made of whey protein (vanilla),corn sugar (find it at the party source) and orange juice. It taste good and will help start rebuilding your body right away. The corn sugar keeps your body from emitting cortisol which breaks down muscle. Cortisol is used when the body has no sugar left to use for energy. The body uses the cortisol to break down muscle for energy use.

Then you should go home and eat a nice heatlhy meal.

    Just my .02.

True. Also, a PB&J sandwich is a good mix of protein and carbs. Make sure to use all natural peanut butter and wheat bread. The only ingredient in all natural peanut butter is peanuts...Who knew???? The hydrogenated vegetable oils in brand names like Jiff or Peter Pan will zap your energy whereas the all natural will actually give you an energy boost.

I said to go with wheat bread because white is not good for you intestines.
