How low can YOU go?
I noticed when the car is off, the gas arrow goes way passed E, so how low can you go before your actually out? It looks like an extra 1/8th of a tank or so.

Most I've ever put in 13 gallons. That was almost at the E, and the "Check Gauges" light was on for 5 or so miles. I usually fill up at half tank, other wise, the wallet takes a huge hit, 93 aint cheap these days.

This may be a stupid question, but how does it hurt the fuel pump, not like it sucks in air or anything.

I usually fill up when the check gauges light comes on, there is usually about two to three gallons left in the tank. The most I've put in my tank at one time was 16 gal.

It's bad for the pump because there is no resistance aka, fuel running through it and it burns the pump out. The pump is always on but with no fuel to syphone, just imagine holding your engine at redline for a while and tell me how it runs after And 14.8, you were on vapors that low Personally, I never run it below 1/4 tank. It costs about $50 to fill up out here

As soon as mine sits comfortably at the E, I'm pretty much boned. It's only a matter of time before it dies. I dont get a check engine light or anything. Since discovering that, i dont go below 1/8th of a tank.
