Black- 00 Camaro SS #5255
What would you do with 1200 dollars?
I have about 1200 dollars left over from my insurance check, after I fixed my front end. What would you do with it? My car is pretty much stock. Magnaflow cat back and ZO6 clutch kit is its only mods. Its a 2000 camaro SS with 46000 miles. Here are my choices.
1. Patriot heads LS6 stg 2 dual valve springs and 226/226 cam shipped for $1000 (good deal)
or
2. Pacesetters W/Ypipe for 500 and then a lid.
If I do the heads and cam I would have to save up and do the LT, T chain, oil pump, intake and lid. Doing the heads and cam kind of opens up the flood gate. I don't drive the car in the winter so its going into hibernation soon. Decisions, decisions.

Depends on how much you want to do with the car.
H/C is a great setup, but you will need supporting bolt-ons and a tune to take full advantage of them. Plus cost for labor if you aren't going to install them yourself.
Or, you could knock out almost the whole list of bolt-on's with that money.
If you plan on doing H/C later, just do it now and get the expensive shit out of the way, otherwise, just start with the bolt-ons.

I don't drag the car and its not my DD. Its more just a sunny weather crusier. At first I was just going to do a cam and headers. But a cam kit is around 600 and if just add another 400 I could do both. My buddy is parting out his car and gave me this deal. Seems kind of a waste to tear into it and not do the heads while its apart, with such a good deal. Damn him for putting this burden on me LOL. The hardest part is if I do the heads is telling the wife sense its apart I might as well do the intake, to take full advantage of the heads, then I might as well do the oil pump, and on and on. And nothing gets done to my car inless I do it myself.

Yep, do the headers and Y pipe, along with a lid and a tune. This will eat up your $1200 but you WILL feel the difference.
Or, you could by the head/cam package and not install it until you have the money for the intake/headers/tune. Sure would be alot easier to do it all at once.

I ordered some headers alittle bit ago. Now looking for a Y pipe. For the headers I ordered I need a Jet Hot Y pipe to fit it.

difently open up your intake and exhaust before you do anything else. they will give you good amounts of gain and open up even more performance when you start modding your engine.

Blue- 1980 Camaro-4sale
I personally would do the heads/cam/other crap. Save up a bit and do it all at once. You should get a big kick in the pants.
Where are you getting them? A friend you say? I'll take 'em if you don't haha. And I'm still in the middle of a deal on a car XD
