LS-6 intake fix ?
I recently found a ls-6 im at a salvage yard its mint and the guy said the car that it came off of only had 8000 miles on it. He only wants 50 dollars for it but one of the 4 mounting holes for the fuel rail has been broken off flush with the manifold. its the rear driver side fuel rail mount could that be fixible or should i leave it alone. i could find a junk ls-1 manifold and trim it off then find some way to adhese it to it . let me know what yall think. i dont want it to seem rigged and mess up on me. all it does is hold the fuel rail down.

can an ls-6 intake be installed easily while the engine is in the car.......and should that manifold be ok with the rear bolt hole missing for the fuel rail.

I don't know if "installed easily" fits the charge but the swap can be done with hand tools. Be very careful as you move the old intake forward. Huge numbers of people have broken the oil pressure sender by snagging the large vacuum line from the brake booster.
I used rubber bands to hold the rear bolts up while sliding the manifold forward.
As for fixing the composite, maybe someone else has some experience. I'm wondering if it would be possible to drill and tap for a short piece of all-thread so you would have a stud where the old bolt hole used to be. I don't know if a stud would interfere with the cowl when moving the new manifold into place and if you could actually get the fuel rail on the stud with such limited vertical room.
