EGR tube broke
well, i was cruisin the other night and thought i heard an exhaust leak. when i got home i checked underhood hoping it was a cutout but instead my egr tube broke off where it mounts to the header. my question is what is the best way to seal it? i was gonna break it the rest of the way off and seal it off with high temp epoxy crap. any suggestions? thanks

I think that's the a.i.r. tube you're talking about. The egr was eliminated in 01I think.
Either way, I'd be careful using opoxy. Some of that stuff will kill your O2's. I would maybe take it somewhere and see if soemone can weld it back on for you. You are talking about the tube sticking up from the exhaust manifold right?

its the egr tube, these headers were made for 98-02 ls1s, so they have the egr provision, its cracked by where the tube meets the header. i think i'm gonna use something like jb weld, but stronger

the egr tube just broke off. right after the weld to where it merges with the #2 cylinder. they are made by sssautochrome. other than this and the fact that y-pipe has to be modified to not hit the floorboard, they are real nice headers, i think that the company are assholes tho. i plugged it with some shit that you mold with your hands, the vatozone stuff. it is harder than jb weld.

Hope it holds. I haven't seen those headers for sale on Ebay in awhile. It sucks cause I just got money together to get a set.

weird, and definately sucks. i have those headers but since i took off the AIR and EGR I had them cut off and close up both. can you take some pics to show us? sorry to hear about your troubles with these headers. so far i have had no issues with them. here are some engine bay pics of mine right after the heads and intake install...
