    Cam Question

I want to put an LS1 in my stock car, and trying to get an idea for a cam, need to have a cam that will go to 7,000 RPM and streetability isn't an issue. Thanks for any help.

MS3 from texas speed would be a good cam. Power band is something like 2300-6800 still a streetable cam. Heres a link

IMO a custom ground cam is the only way to go especially since this is going to be an engine swap into a dedicated race car. Vehicle weight and gearing cannot be carried over from stock street car. You can call up Lunati or Comp's tech support number they will ask you some specifics about you application and help you figure out the specs that will put the power right where you want it. Only thing is you will probably have to know what heads, displacement, and approx. compression ratio among a few other factors. basically have an idea where you want to end up. Also since we are talking turning more RPMs if you upgrade the valvetrain you should be save to something around 6800. If you go with the forged bottom end then you might be able to go over 7000 RPMs. With all of that to think about, I would never go with any preset grind cam. But then again this is your build.

You need to call the cam manufacture and have a custom grind. It would be VERY stupid to try to run a off the shelf grind for what your doing!!
