    Biggest non-noisy cam?

What's the biggest cam I can get without it being too obvious? My parents come and visit me a couple times a year and if I had something huge it'd mean getting an earful from my mom

I plan on keeping stock heads (I can upgrade the valvetrain). I've got a lid/ls6 intake/headers/ory/exhaust/tune and some other small things.

Ideas? I plan on installing it after I get a clutch & steering rack taken care of.

    Something with a higher LSA.

    226/226 58x/58x 114-115 wouldn't be too obvious IMO.

You can hide a louder cam with a good muffler. try and find the SLP stock exhaust for the firehawks and SS camaros.. it will sound like you have an exhaust on the car, but thats all. Talk to the guys at thunder racing and they'll help you find what you're looking for.

You can call the guys at comp cams and tell them your situation and they will custom grind you one that still makes good power but less of the lobe. or just get a big cam with a high lobe seperation. 114-116

What kind of gains would I see from a cam like that? I won't be able to afford a nice set of heads for a while yet.

Seriously, you dont need a big cam to get optimal power from an LS1. The age old 216/220 on a tight LSA is my favourite for an off-the-shelf performer with mild lope.

If you dont want noise dont mod your car. LOL The valvetrain is going to be noisy And whoever said a 114 lsa doesnt chop I beg to differ.

Yo Kelly, Ive got my F10 on a 114 for sale. Its not too loud at all. The lift isnt too harsh. I dont have a baseline but i put down 377/371 with a decent tune. I found out later on that i had an vaccum leak. Its got 7.5k on it and is still in good conditon. With my duals, it was kinda loud though.
current setup is pacesetters, tsp catted y and stock muffler...it was quiet!!! dont you have a loud mouth though?? thats not already loud?

Providing your support the valvetrain to support it with a magnaflow you could get nice power from something like a 228/231 .585/.590 115 (and option +2 advance)
wouldn't lope too bad. You'd have a nice midrange and the top end would be very strong and it'd still breathe a ton so that when you add ported heads your cam will still be fine.
