WS6 Launch Technique?
I just picked up my M6 '01 WS6 and I'm curious what the best launch technique is on stock tires. First and foremost, I already know to disable traction control. Beyond that, I've read it's best to ease it off the line at 1200RPM until about 10 feet has passed, and then bury the accelerator until shifting to 2nd at 5300k, followed by 6k shifts after that.
I would simply test this out, but I do NOT want to end up sideways like I've read will happen with a 3k launch on stock tires.

If your at the dragstrip make sure to drive around the water box and do a quick dry spin of the tires. You should also be ok with launching at 2,000 rpm. A friend of mine did this exact procedure and ran a 12.9 in his 2002 SS with all SLP bolton options and long tube headers.

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
get subframes and a torque arm. you'll never get sideways. Other than that. stick to your formula until you get slicks.

if the track is sticky u should be good.. i think the best way to do it on street tires is to wait till the last yellow to hit and as soon as you see it, just rev very little and let go of the clutch.. i was off the line .2 every time. and i had 0 slip. make sure you do a dry burnout tho. i ran a 14.44 last time out and completely stock.. just practice and youll get the hang of what you feel better at.

Phew! Glad you cleared that up 6sw00..
I have hard time accepting running 14s in the '01 WS6 unless I had a 3.0+ 60'..
If I can nail a 13.9 @101.7 on a Stage 1 SRT-4 without traction on my first time at a drag strip, there's no way I should be hitting 14s in a '01 WS6. If there's anything a SRT-4 requires skill in, it's dealing with the massive wheel- hopping experience that is its FWD launch.
And yeah, I know the WS6 and SRT-4 are totally different animals and thus can't be compared faithfully. All I'm saying is I'd be really upset if I ran a 14.

I think you have your launch down great! 13.44 is nice bone stock. If you get an air lid, coolant bypass, catback and a programmer I'll bet you could break a 12.99 easy. Anyway thats where I would start along with a stb and sfc's. Where do you run in NY?

13.1! Thats sweet!! Is your car totally stock? Do you launch like 6sw00. Rev it until 2000 rpm's at the yellow and then let the clutch out fast? Are the dry burnouts important?
