I was looking at the g2 g5x3 cam and the g2 g5x4 cam which one would be better for a 2000 camaro ss and would I have to get different heads?

Yes the LG cams are some of the most popular for the ls1. They all make good power and are very streetable cams. No you will not need different heads, a buddy of mine has the GX4 stock heads. Sounds great and makes really good power, the only down fall is if you get the 3 or 4 can you live with the “secret specs” and they are probably one of the most expensive ls1 cams . If that doesn’t bother you then go for it.

well if you go with the 2 they give you all the specs but with the 3 they give you the lift but not the duration and on the 4 they wont tell you lift or duration but I know on the 4 the lsa is 111(has a nice choppy idle) and you can get they 3 on a 112 or 114. Its so you dont take they specs and get a custom grind from another company cheaper since LG is pricey.

LG has some excellent cams......but, this 'top secret' crap has got to go. Even ED has pretty much gotten away from that . You can custom grind anything you want from any cam manufacturers....Comp, Crane, Cam Motion...etc.
