    looking to pick up...

    hello all.

i'm looking at picking up a '99 z28 later this week but before i get it i want to know if anyone drives theirs in the winter. this will be my main transport during the winter, secondary after the bike in the summer, and i want to know what to expect from it in poor weather...snow mainly.

i figure snow tires...obviously...and easy on the clutch and gas along with some sandbags in the rear end and i should be okay. yes...no...?

also i was wondering when i'm looking this car over...what should i be on the lookout for. any telltale signs of impending problems...that sort of thing.

yes, you can drive it in the snow and i only have all season tires.
Not as bad as you would think.

As far as problems just take it for a drive. Make sure it shifts correctly and the clutch is not slipping. Listen for really loud noises from the rear end. These cars are pretty solid except for the rear end.

I run all weather tires, works fine except when it's extremely slippery (iced). watch out for extreme rear end noise (whining).
