Air / Fuel Ratio Gauges....HELP

I just recently bought a few gauges for my 99 SS. d-pic, trans temp, and air / fuel ratio all from autometer. Now people are telling me that th a/f gauge is worthless because it's not digital. It looks good but thats it i cant tune anything. I spoke to high end auto shop and they said digital is the way to go, and "AEM UEGO" gauges is the way to go. I need some info on this particular gauge if anyone has had any kind of expirence with it considering it's $379 bucks. Please Help!!!!!!!

hey i have a 99 c5 and i just bought the air fuel guage from autometer.. the guage is not intended for tuning it is more of a cosmetic thing. by the time your air fuel guage reads lean the damage will have been done already. anyways they do sell the ones that you can tune by .. but why???? take the car to a tuner.. they will tell you how your car runs..

The AF gauge needs to be a wideband. You cannot tune with the stock 02 sensors.

Thanks ED BLOWN VERT i appreciate the info. Have you had any expirence with the aem uego gauge? I am a little weary about this particular gauge. It has a digital readout and a color index that sweeps from one side to the other. It also comes with a new sensor. It seems like it would give a percise readout if you tune the car. Any help would be appreciated.
