Spice Red- 06 GTO
Sounds Wierd, But... Leaf Blower Anyone?
Yesterday I dried my car with my leaf blower. It seemed to work pretty good. Some benefits...
- Saved having to wash two towels.
- Saved a little time
- Saved two chances of scratching the clear coat. (Those swirls in the clear coat really are annoying). All you need is a little dirt or sand to get on your towel and you're making swirls in the clear coat.
- I was able to blow the water out of hard to reach places, like seams between body panes and things like the headlights and grill. When that water drips out, it makes water spots.
Seemed easier and if I save having a towel touch the car 100 times a year (2 towels a week), I should prevent a lot of unintended swirl marks.
Thoughts anyone?Tom 06 GTO

the leaf blower works great for the tail lights/hatch area. Works wonders on the engine bay as well.

I've been using the leaf blower to dry my car for a while. Alot quicker, especially after it has been waxed recently. Gets all the water outta the lights/door handles and such. Just doesnt work to good on the area between the spoiler and the trunk, but I just use a towel for that. Its a time saver if you ask me.

I tried that a few times in my SS. Actually not 100 mph, but about 60 out on the main road (speed limit 45). It's about a mile to get out of my neighborhood, maybe 5-10 minutes and the car still wasn't all that dry. (Some areas behind the airflow). Plus, I'd pick up road dirt.
