removal of cats and ignition problems
have any of you heard of taking the cats off and having trouble starting your car. i put slp headers on and took off my cats 2 months ago. now it just started not starting on the first crank but it fires perfect on the second. a mechanic told me it was bc there is not enough back pressure. is he full of shit.

very full of it. there are more than a few of us running that way and we never have any problems. lack of backpressure isn't gonna stop it from running, you have a problem somewhere else

it runs but it takes two cranks to do so. what the hell could it be though. the second crank fires perfectly.

I can't even pretent to know what the problem could actually be. Backpressure is a topic that gets beat to death between old school and newschool though

Sounds like a fuel issue. Try this: Turn your ignition switch to the "on" position and wait for several seconds (or just let it beep five times) before turning it to start. If it starts immediately, then likely it's a fuel supply issue.
