What was the problem you had with that combination......?
What carb did you run...?
How much timing did you have in it...?
Ect.
I have seen many run great with EFI cams that are carbed with big bottle also.Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

How many cubes is it?
If it's stock stroke that is on the large side on the carb!
Did you get it to were the plugs were reading good?
Is the motor lazy or just doesn't pull more details please.

k the best i can tell is that they were burning a tad lean a bit of an orange tint was revelled it is stock cubes approx. 364 it only seemes to really get with the program after 3500rpm it has a 4000 stall from hughs it has gone to 7300 on stock rods and bolts but i think it still has power above i want the low end to get me off the line possibly run 1.4, 1.5 60 foots i've jetted up down and all around

So you said you have played with the jets up and down.....So it has the stock air bleeds in it still then?
Also the dist. you have adv. in it still....?
If so you need to lock it out!
That will make a big difference.
Squirters are stock front and back....?
Do you have a transbrake or are you foot braking the car?
Most Hughes conv. will Never go what they say so if you got a 4000 you will probably only get it to flash in the mid 3's and high 3's on the bottle.
What gear in the ass?
And what tire as in dia?

k sorry i wasnt clear im useing the msd ignition controler it has the 18degree at 1500 to 36degrees at 4200 up im not too sure bout air bleeds out back i've got 5.13 and a29.5 in Hoosier drag slick all packed in a ford 9'' with all strange parts oh yeah im still foot braking the car the squirters are the 50 cc ones

Race Demons don't come in 850 so do you have a 825 Race Demon?
Also the 50cc is the diaphram volume NOT the squirter size.If you look at the squirter itself it is stamped on the middle of it it will be 32,35,37,40 ect.
So what jets do you have in it now then?
I would put alot more intail timing in it. Do you have the hand held or the PC software or are you limited to the preset pills?

okay i guess i need to study more before i just start talking i have a mighty demon 850 no chole horn and 39 squirters it has 79 squared for jets and ihave the pc software that i'm partialy sceptic to i do have a full set of pill but use the hardware to set my revlimiters i looked at the timing chart i supose you could set the timming at 36 through the entire rpm range what do you suggest

39 is on the large side for booth squirters. I would change them out to 35 or even 32's if some one has some you can try. It will wake it up on the 60'.
The 79 squared you are not running a power valve then?
Also look at the inner "high speed" bleeds and get me that # also.
Yes I would go in and put the timing at 34 all the way across the rpm range.
Than you need to read the heat mark on the ground strap.
The timing will help a great deal. And with two 39's it has to be fat on the launch.

You will probably have to unscrew one out to see it. It should be stamped on the top or sometimes on the side of it too. Should be somewhere between 22-35........
Need to pull that front bowl off and look in the middle of the metering block and see if there is just a plug in it or there is a power valve. If there is a power valve it willl have a small diaphram on one side and on the threaded side it has a spring. The face of it which you can see will have a # stamped in it also.....6.5,7.5,5.5,4.5,ect.

Well the bleeds is how I would tune the carb to get the A/F ratio where I want it.

checked vaccum with a old guage it only said about 12psi it spiked to about 15 when i reved it and let off . changing jets could drop 7 tenths off the quarter and 3mph off speed i'm peaked at 11.78 @ 112 . if i go up in jets my mph drops . an old drag racer showed me how to tune it so maybe i can show an old dog new tricks. plugs would go from dark grey to a good tan right now they have a red tint to them I D K if that is good or bad
