    98 SS Vs. 69 SS

A while back i was going to work and i saw this red 69 SS behiend me, and wow u know you cant resist getting a peek.

so i slowed down got in the right lane and let him catch up just to see the beast. i hung back a bit while we were going down the road and he was blipping it a couple times down the road nothing too much.

it ends up we get side by side at a light. thats when i asked hiim what year it was etc... i said nice car, he said nothing (probably thinking i was a cocky young punk that just wanted to race). then i saw the 396 badge on the front fender and i said wow i bet its a beast, he said "yea it goes good"

long story short we take off from the light at regular pace, and i get on it a bit and rev out 1st till about 3.5 grand then i just nail it, he didnt get on it so i guess he didnt want to race but all in all it was a very nice car

what do you think would have been the outcome if we both went at it assuming he had the stock equip for the 69' ss (aka stock 396 power,... etc..)?

I think you would have gotten him, due to the increased traction our cars have compared to them and also the lower weight. Would have been a great race either way though.

^^^ the increased weight?? of the 69 or the 98 cuz my dads 68 RS/SS only weighes 3456 with me in it and a 1/4 tank of gas there light cars for how old they are, now a charger or something yea there boats, i think the wieghts a pretty close to the same, i still think the 98 would have beat the 396 but i dont know, my dads is not stock and he runs 12.41 at the RMR in salt lake in 85 degree weather so who know but i bet the Ls1 would have got him

Chances are the 69 had little tiny ity bity tires in the back and know matter how much he tryed to win, he would never ever get traction....Period
