    What clutch?

My 01 ss is my daily driver and weekend warrior. So what clutch would feel stockish and handle some launches. So far only have the clutch sticks the to the floor with hi rpm shifts and the occasional variable sweet spot in clutch travel. Does this sound like a clutch master cylinder prob. or slave? Plan on the new clutch as well just making sure i know what i have to buy when she finally gives way. Mixed reviews on all brands and cant seem to find a brand the the majority use?

There is no good answer on this. Lots of people like Spec and some don't. I had good luck out of the SPec 3 and SPec 3 plus. Then you have people that like the LS7 clutches. No way to get a good answer on this question. There is a ton of them that say have stock feel more holding power and no chattering on take off. Ram, Centerforce, SPec, Gm, and I know there is one or two more I"m forgetting. Depends alot on your mods on your car.

i think the stage 3+ is a little easyer to peddle... i forget... but it is a damned good clutch and takes the beating i throw on it and it doesn't even phase it...

what about Ram's clutches, clutch master, and slave cylinder? Are they good for daily drivers? Better than OEM?

I've gone through a Centerforce (Don't buy it-piece o crap) lasted about 6 months, then a SPEC 3+ lasted about 2 months (think it was due to a slave going bad due to a Centerforce clutch), now I have a TEXTRALIA clutch and new gm slave and love it.

If you change the clutch, might as well while you are in there, spend the extra $65 or so and 10 minutes to change the slave cylinder anyways. Even if you *think* it is still good. Cost effective preventative measures will save you headache and money down the road.

What about the LS7 clutch / ls2 fly option. Daily driver and will never make more than 400 rwhp before it needs replacing anyways?

Not sure how good or bad they are. but here is the best deal I could find quickly:

$435.00 for the pressure plate, disk, and LS2 flywheel. I would also just buy the GM bolt kit for an extra $6.42. And go by a Autozone or equivalent in your area and buy a new slave for another $65. Not a bad deal for around $500 total.

I have the Zoom clutch. It works great for me and the petal feels near stock. I have great holding power with it too but my motor is mostly stock so take my experience for what its worth.
