leave your stock maf in place. people who change out the maf generally have problems.

Don't even think of de-screening the stock one unless you want the car to run like a DOG.

MAF is a Mass Air Flow sensor that reads the volume of air being pulled through it and adjust your fuel to achieve the correct air fuel ratio. Many other factors play in the A/F ratio being calibrated by the cars computer...such as Air Temp being read by your IAT sensor....manifold pressure...throttle position.....etc. Many, such as myself, utilize a speed density tune that eliminates the MAF....we program our own tables for A/F..
now what happens often times is folks think they can descreen/port/polish or change out the stock MAF for a aftermarket MAF...and leave everything else the same....the car is calibrated ( or should I say the cars computer is calibrated) to the OEM MAF....you intorduce a variable such as descreening or aftermarket or different size MAF and all hell breaks loose...car searches for idle all the time....A/F is all screwed up and the tuner cant tune it in....fact of the matter is the stock MAF is good up to around 500hp...so if you arent exceeding 500hp...most of the experianced gearheads are gonna rightfully tell you to leave it alone....exceeding 500hp I recommend a speed density tune....good question...glad you ask...

that's why my cars are so slow. no screens in the MAF.
