    overheating

so it is hotter than normal here and my car is having trouble with it. i already have a 160 stat but when i am in traffic i get hot fast and then when i stop i hear a gurgling noise from my radiator (which i am pretty sure it is because i have air in the lines) anyways i know about the the fan switch controller form slp but i need to fix it fast cause i am driving 2000 miles back home to texas and the car does fine on the highways i just want to remedy the problem if i can. any suggestions. by the way i am a 1997 ws6. thanks

    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

put more coolant in there-should fill up the air pockets...basically the air is so hot that the coolant you have is boiling causing the temp to spike. you might have a small leak-has the car sat for a very VERY long time?

replace the rad cap and check the water pump gaskets when the engine is running cold to see if they leak.
