need to know what your current mods are (if any). you will gain HP but how much i don't know off hand. what are your goals? what are you looking into doing with your car?
2018 CTS-V: °°668rwhp/658rwtq°°
2013 ZL1: °°590rwhp/576rwtq°°

yeah no need to get a MAF sensor. the stock is fine up to 500hp. save the money gears or something else. essentually it sounds like you are turning your car into mine so to speak. if you have any questions, please let me know...

car craft had a magazine that had 500 hp combos, and the ls1 was the smallest ci motor in this article, on the ls1 the ported the ls6 heads to flow 310cfm at 500 lift, had a cam with 224/236 degrees @.050inch tappet with lift .580 and lobe separation at115 degrees advanced and intake centerline of 112 degrees and the fast 90/90 and kooks headers, and 11.1 compression, this combo made 512 hp
as far as just the heads I would guess 40 hp and 80 hp with a good cam

I have a dyno test on a 98 Z switching back and forth between ported LS1 heads and ported LS6 heads to find a difference. Car also had a small 222/230 duration cam and headers. Also both heads were tested with LS1 intake and LS6 intake.
Here ya go:
ported LS1 head and stock LS1 intake 406 hp and 393 tq
ported LS1 head and stock LS6 intake 423 hp and 405 tq
ported LS6 head and stock LS1 intake 413 hp and 400 tq
ported LS6 head and stock LS6 intake 435 hp and 416 tq
As you can see, the LS6 head was only worth 7 hp and 7 tq over the LS1 head with a stock LS1 intake, but look what happens when the stock LS6 intake is installed. Pretty interesting stuff. Larry.

Ported LS6 head with LS1 manifold had mid lift flow numbers at .400" of 230 cfm and at .450" it had 242 cfm. It peaked in the 260 range.
With the LS6 intake the numbers at .400" lift were 241 cfm and at .450" was 257 cfm. It peaked in the 280 cfm range.
Ported LS1 head with LS1 manifold had mid lift flow numbers at .400" of 222 cfm and at .450" it had 232 cfm. Peaking at around 250 cfm.
Ported LS1 head with LS6 manifold had mid lift flow numbers at .400" of 244 cfm and at .450" it had 257 cfm. It peaked in the mid 270-275 cfm range.
All of the peaks I am listing are in the .550 lift range which simulates most street style camshafts, the charts actually go up to .600" lift where the cfm's increase even more for all instances, but as you can see, both sets of heads ported by the same person and on the same flow bench make respectable numbers and are actually very close when the same intake is ran on both types of heads. Everything I see with the dyno numbers and porting numbers seem to point to the LS6 intake being the deciding factory as to what works best. The heads are a toss up with a very slight advantage going to the LS6 heads. Larry.
