burnout=clutch pedal got stuck
ok so ive owned the TA for about 2 weeks now, and i am good on a stick now, so i did my first burnout today..my god it was awesome..i revved it to 4k and then dumped clutch, it was soo awesome, rev limiter bouncing, swirving all over the place, then all of a sudden when i put clutch back in to switch to a dif gear, it wouldnt go into ANY gear, so i coasted to the side of the road, turned off car, let foot offof clutch, and it woulndt come up? so i pressed the clutch in and it let off, i then started car and everytiong was fine again, why did that happen?

Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
The stock hydraulics suck.
Probably needs a new slave cylinder at the least.

Something kinda similar happened to me once in an A4 LT1. I was doing a sweet ass burnout and then the car would not go over 2000 rpms. Then I shut it off, thinking I totally fucked something up and when I turned it back on, everything was back to normal.

You might want to be careful about "bouncing it off the rev-limiter" or your burnouts may become very expensive!!!

You might've done something to the pressure springs in your clutch disc

i would never bounce the limiter.. read in a mag that if the engine goes over 6200 or so, ur gunna be in trouble.. the ls1 isnt made for that.

Sounds like your pressure plate is wearing out. You probably collapsed the diaphram. I have seen a weak or cheap pressure plate actually suck the clutch pedal to the floor at extreme rpm`s.

Sounds like the pressure plate to me. Clutch disk is not releasing for some reason and sticking to the flywheel

I have the same problem, although I don't bounce it off the rev-limiter or do burn outs that much. Its jsut that in the higher rpms the clutch sticks to the floor, I have to pop it back out with my foot. So everyone is saying that its the pressure plate, not the slave cylinder? Both, what is a slave cylinder...basically...what do I need to buy to fix this?

slave cylinder is on the input shaft and it pushes on the diaphragm of the pressure plate and it may be the reason your clutch isn't releasing. One or the other, the slave will be a problem as well

White- 2001 WS6
Same thing happened to me. I have an 01 ws6 with spec stage 3 clutch and upgraded hydraulics. Clutch got stuck a few times under normal driving. Had to pop it out with foot and it hasnt acted up since.

that damned hydraulic line from the master to the slave has a restriction in it...hence the drill mod...burnouts heavy shifting is known to cause this problem...ive seen many factory bottom ends good to 7200...but then again ive seen them blow just off idle...so you never knwo

Stop with the replacing!!!!!
I just fixed my cars clutch pedal for $9.56
Its just the clutch fluid, go take a look at your clutch fluid right now. I guarentee you it will be a dark mud color with a bunch of globs in it. This is the way mine was (I'll post up pictures later) and it was crazy! Here is a step by step link as to how to do it.
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...t=clutch+floor
its easy, it took maybe 5 minutes and now Its like I have a new clutch.
I had to flush mine around 5 times it was so cantaminated. Good luck, and then afterwards go enjoy some real burnouts with no sticky clutch
