Hi folks
I think my title is enough. ^^ Oh i talk about a 1998 LS1 Camaro Z28 and I compare them with a M6 Camaro from 1998.

Stock for stock = yes unless the A4 is a freak.

he means unless it has a stall and firmed shift points, which means it suffers lessof a power loss and therefore will outshift a Manual 6spd
if you are comparing them to your car, dont race one for money if you are stock

Stock for Stock a A4 is usually slower than a M6.
I think A4's are better from a stop, and M6's are better from a roll.
I drag race so I like A4's. And I don't think my A4 is too slow.Black 1999 Blown Convertible A4

From a roll the M6 will crush the auto, from a dead stop if you are a good driver the manual will be faster. I had a guy with an 01 ram air TA with an auto and 3.23's and from a roll of about 5mph-10mph I pulled pretty well on him, by 90 it was a car and a half at least. We were both stock at the time. If your going to be a drag strip warrior get the auto and throw a stall in it and you'll beat M6's with regularity plus you'll be more consistent. Street only get the manual!

or if you are going for good gas mileage for the power say, get the six speed

It still depends on what you want to use the car for. Do you want mainly street or strip? I recommend M6, but if you really want to be competitve at the strip go for a built A4.

It will be a street/weekend car. Just fun... not often i will go to a drag strip.
hmmmm... what is with a 1998 Chevi Camaro SS A4? Are they fast on the street? Because there is one SS here in my Country. Are they A4 SS fast? =) Shall be a LS1 beause it's a 98.

I definitely say go with the M6. It should beat that SS if it is stock. The SS package will make it a bit closer than if it was just a Z-28 due to a little extra power.

My auto is definately not slow but suffers against the M6 cars on the interstate, It tends to run out of gear sooner. From a light I can usually pull a similar modded 6 speed just because I can come out of the light fairly hard without roasting the tires off. It will though if I mat it, I still prefer a 6 speed over an auto.

stock for stock, mod for mod a4 is quicker (et)( and consistent), m6 is faster (mph), ( by 3-5 mph) m6 is fun to drive ( jerk) around town, a4 best out of the hole,m6 fron a roll
