    I would use the GM MLS 6.0 head gasket.

    I agree 100%. The GM MLS gasket will be fine for that application.

    do not use the felpro 1041. the bore size is way too large. even for a 6.0L bore of 4.00". you need to use the head gasket for the LS1 motor as your cylinder diameter hasn't changed (3.898). get the 2003 MLS gasket for a LS1, not a 6.0L.

    Felpro 1041 Summit Racing

    Bore = 4.135"
    Compressed Thickness = .041"

    4.135 - 3.898 = .237" open area

    what can happen is carbon gets built up in this area and can cause detonation.

    now, looking on mrgasket website, they have a MLS gasket thats 4.060" diameter with a compressed thickness of .054". 3143G it says for 98-00 LS1. i know there was something about a notch needed for the older blocks. i'll try to look into it more later.
