Long tubes and y pipe on a convertible
Hey man, anybody out there put headers and a y pipe on the convertible t/a or camaro? I have been looking for some advice on this as it seems the y pipe is a bitch on convertibles and is hard to fit. I want to do headers but I don't want to end up with a botched up job to make the y pipe fit. I have frame connectors so that may make a difference. I called QTP and they said I may have to modify the y pipe on a convertible but would not commit to a good fit. Just wanted some info if you have done this to a convertible. Thanks for any help..
99 30th anniversary T/A convertible #231, automatic un-fortunately.

I put mine in with no problem but it's n M6. I really have not heard of major issues with convertibles - where do you or they think the problem will be?

headers on a convertible
well, QTP says the underside of the frame carriage/unibody is strenghthened and configured a little different than a hardtop. Also SLP has a kit you have to use when installing on a convertible. That is what I know, hence the question I posted. I don't personally know but thought someone out there could give me some input from there car if they have had this done. You had no banging or fit problems with yours? What brand header and y pipe did you use?
thank you,
Andy
