Weird sun set yesterday... light from the east?
that is the east... the sun sets in the west and was almost directly behind me...
normally i'd say reflecting/refracting light from clouds but there is to much perfect symmetry in the dark lines... they all merge to one point...
any meterologists here?

I think its wierd man.. Maybe the sun was shining all the way around the world and comin up the other side, doubt it tho. It was pourin rain her so I didnt get to see the sunset

first thing i thought of was possible nuke test... but the light was to constant and long... only other thing i can think of is something similar to the northern lights... i dunno...

Looks like -sun was lighting the bottoms of the clouds, that's pretty normal- might have been fairly high altitide clouds....
The shadows don't look to me to be converging, more like they are parallel- the sun is so far away that the light rays that arrive from it are very close to parallel so shadows don't get bigger further away like we are used to seeing from a lightbulb-
Dunno, wasn't there, would have to see it

also since my camera batteries were dead i had to have a co-worker take pictures on her 4 MP cell phone... she didn't get the intire burst... but it made a fan like pattern that merged in one point...
it freaked me out...

here you can see a little that the other side had the burst effect as well...
i really wish i had better pictures...
