    Cutting off the muffler

I have a 98 z28 and just recently cut off the exhaust, it sounds pretty good and isnt to loud, but i am wondering if anybody that has done this has had any problems and if it makes the car run any better

Can you notice it running any better? Also-leave your window rolled down some so you don't gas yourself out and pass out. Carbon monoxide isn't anything to fool around with. Run a pipe out from underneath the body and breathe easier.

basically your running a cutout, you could of kept the muffler and put on a cutout for 50 bucks and been as loud as you want and quiet when u want

i cut it off right at the bend before the muffler, i dont notice any problems with fumes. It seems to run a little better either because of the muffler off or the free ram air mod

I cut my muffler off my 99 z28 as soon as i got it home.it sounded alright and served its purpose untill i started modding it. it was cheaper then buying a muffler plus when you say you cut it off, people just look at you stupid. I guess they wish they would have thought of that.

Cut out is probable an easier way to go, it will cost ya 50 bucks including installation... and its nice with an electric cutout because i can turn it off whenever I want, but the valve will cost you a bit more.
