Torch Red- 1999 Corvette Hardtop
New FRC Vette owner- question
I recently bought a 99 FRC Vette. Im preety sure I over paid at 21,700, but it only has 43k miles on it. And it is in really great shape, especially the interior and the paint.
Anyway my question is, I read eveywhere that certain options were not available on the FRC versions. My car has HUD and Fog lights, as well as the dual climate control. All three options I read are not available on the Hardtop. Even the Corvette Video I got with the car puts not available on Hardtop model in the corner of the screen when talking about these options.
All the codes are correct in the glovebox, Is it posible that my car was a prototype or something weird like that, because Ive yet to see another Hardtop with these options, especially the HUD.
Anybody have any wisdom to share on this subject?

Millennium Yellow- '02 Corvette
I dont know why the video stated that and yours is not the only one. In '99, there were 718 FRCs that got the fog lamps, 483 got the HUD, and 435 got the dual climate control. Here is where I got that info. from. It is a great website with lots of good info. on it.

I own a 2000.... and i didnt think 99's came with HUD... I know they came with the wagon wheels... but the other stuff im not sure about...
I was under the impression though that the 99's were stripper models even compared to the 2000...

Torch Red- 1999 Corvette Hardtop
The termy was great for a year, but it was my daily driver and it got around 13 miles per gallon. Also I am a big guy, and I just couldnt ever get comfortable in it (pushed on my left shoulder and the shifter position is terrible), so I put it for sale on SVT.com and it sold for $22,500 the next day. The guy did a direct deposit the following day. It happend so fast.
I always wanted a Vette. My dad has had 4. I Wanted a ZO6, but they are still to much $, even for a 02 model. So I got the nest best thing. A FRC with low miles and one owner. I will make it fast when I get some free money. I have never been a Ford or Chevy guy, so I have no loyalties to a Company logo. So far I love the Vette. I am getting used to the slowness, and the quietness. Sorry for the long answer to the short question.

they weigh a bit less i think mine is 2150... and they are 15% more rigid... what ever 15% or rigidity means...
They arent really stripper models... I mean you cant take away alot on a vette... mine doesnt have power passenger seat... or adjustable ride control (all came with Z51 suspension)... and they were all standards with black interiors...
I dont know what you would really call one... its not like you could get roll up windows...
