tax returns, what should i do??

so im only getting about $500 back from my tax return and i was thinking about dumping it all into my WS6 M6. im on a tight budget right now since i wont be working until the end of the month so im not sure how much extra money i can come up with to put into the car. so anyways, i have a whisper lid and a flowmaster exhaust that im content with(for now) but i dont know what to get with my $500-$600 budget. i thought about picking up a Pro 5.0 shifter and maybe some gears but im kinda lost on what to get or if i should get other stuff first. any ideas??

i'd go with more induction. maybe throttle body, mass airflow, 160 thermostat.

if not... probably a tune (diablosport)

or an ls6 intake would be a great mod if you already have a lid.

If you are going to get a tune...do it right. It will eat up the $500 though.
Mass airflow sensor is a waste of money at this point. The stock one is best for that power level. The aftermarket ones throw off the A/F.

I see the car is a 1999. I would recommend an LS6 intake if you want power.
$500 sadly doesn't go very far on these cars.

    I don't.

    Regretfully.

so are the aftermarket mafs good as long as you get a tune to adjust it? or are they just bad all together?

    They require tuning.
Otherwise they can unsafely lean you out.

oh ok any real gains you know of from switching??

and about your post transamdude, I vote for the gears. Go with some 4.10's, I just got mine.. still waiting to be installed, I also got the kit that comes with the pinions shims, bearings, and a bunch of other stuff for around $265 shipped.

Maybe a set of SFC's to go along with it? The shifter is a good idea too, I'll be picking one up sometime soon.

    Not really...

By the time you get the limits of the MAF...there is a good chance you are looking at Speed Density tunes (removing MAF completely) anyways.

I vote for the ls6 intake, not sure how many miles you have but what about a full maintenance tune up? Seafoam treatment, all fluids, fuel filter, so on and so on.

he couldn't get both with $500. I'd say as long as everything is running right, and doesn't need to be replaced (plugs, wires, oil change, etc.) Go for some 4.10's and the shifter, or save it and put it towards a new exhaust with some LT's

if I were you...I would do 4:10's...you will feel the biggest difference than any other mod you can do for $500 and it will help out your 5th and 6th gear to have a lil more nut. Also it wont affect your cars tuning at all either...which saves you money on buying a tuner which I would definitely recommend just getting a custom dyno tune which is the same price but not with only lid and catback. Do the 4:10's!!! You will love them

If he found a used LS6 intake he could pull it off.

    $300 or so used.
